Bruce’s passion for woodwork stemmed from wanting to re-engineer himself, out of corporate life and generate an opportunity that would keep him focused and gainfully occupied for another 15 years, or so!
He is a man of few words. Bruce admits that he immerses himself in his projects, restoring and bringing life back to Antique and Vintage furniture.
We strive to give our clients the best version of the pieces we find, not to mention your very own heirlooms that we restore.
Over the past two years, he spent endless hours learning skills from Oom Dries (sadly deceased) and re-engineering himself to learn skills that others have learned over a lifetime but are no longer offered to the public. His motto is to endure and never give up, as the final result is always worth all the lost man hours and physical labour.
Being asked to take on projects that most others would or have refused, he painstakingly restores furniture pieces, that have been passed down through generations, and this is a great honor to him.
Some people might see a broken piece of furniture as something that should be thrown away, yet the nostalgic memories behind the furniture pieces make it worth the hours of toil and labour.

Bruce chooses to sand the wood himself, the smell of the wood, brings back forgotten images of the past owners and the craftsmanship long forgotten. At the end of the day, working in the sun and covered in sawdust, it would be easier to get someone else to do the physical work, but then the passion would be lost.
